RBK- Football
A Brief History

The St. Louis Rams are a professional American football team based in St. Louis, Missouri. They are currently members of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The team has won two NFL Championships and one Super Bowl.

The Rams began playing in 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio as a second incarnation of the previous Cleveland Rams team that was a charter member of the 1936-37 American Football League. Although the NFL granted membership to the same owner, this new NFL franchise technically became a separate entity since only four of the players (William "Bud" Cooper, Harry "The Horse" Mattos, Stan Pincura, Mike Sebastian) and none of the team's personnel joined the new NFL team.

The team then became known as the Los Angeles Rams after the club moved to Los Angeles, California in 1946. Following the 1979 season, the Rams moved south to the suburbs in nearby Orange County, playing their home games at Anaheim Stadium in Anaheim for fifteen seasons (1980-94), keeping the Los Angeles name. The club moved east to St. Louis prior to the 1995 season.

So what if it was all against the second team? The Kansas City Chiefs were badly in need of a confidence boost and that's exactly what they'll take out of Thursday night's 21-17 victory over a collection of St. Louis reserves. "We know it wasn't their ones. But you've still got to go out there and play and execute," said Brodie Croyle, who directed two brisk first-quarter touchdown drives.

Rams Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

There were some sighs of relief when the Rams' first-team offense scored two touchdowns against Baltimore in the team's third preseason game.

"We still have a long way to go, but this was good progress," offensive coordinator Al Saunders said. "You always have to remember, these are practices in a game environment."

Saunders was hired by head coach Scott Linehan to raise the standards on offense, as well as develop continuity on the offensive line. For the Rams to compete for a division title, the offense has

to be a lot better than it was in 2007 when 13 different players started at 18 positions on the offensive line and quarterback Marc Bulger had his worst season as a starter.

As wide receiver Torry Holt said, reflecting on the arrival of Saunders, "I was...
