Teams had until 5 p.m. ET Sept. 4 to reach the NFL-mandated 53-player roster limit. Here's a team-by-team look from SN's correspondents at cuts and other decisions by teams in the division: Atlanta Falcons The team will enter 2010 without two of the three cornerbacks who were at the top of the depth chart at the end of last season. They had already traded Chris Houston and on Saturday they waived nickel back Chevis Jackson. A third-round choice in 2008, Jackson is the highest pick selected by GM Thomas Dimitroff to be released.

The Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets are supposed to be among the ranks of Super Bowl favorites. They sure didn't look like it during the preseason. Of course, those games also didn't count. That's the trouble with trying to make sense of the preseason. We don't know how much to take from the things we saw the last five weeks.
